Spiegel joins Freewebs from AOL where she held a variety of positions that included vice president of audience programming operations and planning, where she was responsible for delivering more than 250 programming initiatives as AOL opened its content up to the Web. Spiegel has also worked for Fox Television, serving as show producer for the newsmagazine A Current Affair.

At Freewebs, Spiegel will build and lead the company's editorial team, collect, aggregate and promote member-created content, and allow users to connect around shared interests and hot-button topics.

"Freewebs has always provided its community with free, high-quality publishing tools, and we're always looking for ways to enhance our members' experience," says Shervin Pishevar, president and COO of Freewebs. "Andrea is a significant addition to our executive team, and with her insight we're ready to provide the Freewebs community with a complete platform to more effectively focus the spotlight on them as they communicate with the world."
