📅 October 27, 2006 - Web hosting provider Hostopia (hostopia.com ) announced on Thursday it has launched a Web site design service to be marketed under its new division Website Experts (websiteexperts.com), which it will sell to end-users via Hostopia's global network of private-label partners.

Website Experts designs and delivers professional Web sites for small to medium-sized businesses combining template designs, custom development, database applications, Flash and other online applications. The service will help telecommunication companies, ISPs and other hosting service providers meet the rapidly growing demand of small businesses for professional Web sites.

"The service will include an option for end users to choose from over 3000 Flash-enabled templates in over 100 business verticals," says Paul D. Engels, chief marketing officer for Hostopia. "The combination of custom development supported by high-quality pre-built templates allows the end-user to quickly choose a compelling design direction for their online presence without sacrificing customization options."

Website Experts offers competitive pricing for basic and Flash enhanced Web sites, as well as optional maintenance plans on a monthly basis, providing consistent, inexpensive site updates for end-users. The company says it is planning to release additional value-added services in the near future.

Just less than a year ago, Hostopia itself was acquired by Deluxe Corporation for about $124 million Canadian.

According to the press release, the sale allows CI Host and Cassiopeia Internet to "focus on their managed, dedicated and colocation hosting for their mid and large market enterprise customers while ensuring improved services for the accounts to be acquired by X7 Hosting."

📅 Jun 19, 2008 - Web Host Hostopia Acquired for $124M - Shortly after announcing a fairly significant acquisition of its own, private-label web hosting provider Hostopia (hostopia.com ) reported this week that it had entered an agreement to be acquired by Deluxe Corporation (deluxe.com -> hostpapa.com). According to the announcement, Deluxe, which "helps financial institutions and small businesses better manage, promote, and grow their businesses," will acquire Hostopia in an all-cash deal that values the company at approximately $124 million Canadian.The merger agreement will see Deluxe pay $10.55 for each outstanding Hostopia common share.In July 2006, Hostopia filed its IPO, intending to raise approximately $40 million.
