Global Data Center M&A Deal Volume in 2018 Grows, Value Drops
📅 - The number of significant data center-oriented M&A deals continued to climb in 2018, though the total value of deals that closed in the year dropped off from its 2017 peak. This can be concluded from a new market study published by Synergy Research Group (srgresearch.com).
While this M&A deal volume growth in 2018 included $5 billion+ deals, none approached the scale of the 2017 acquisition of DuPont Fabros by Digital Realty – a transaction valued at approximately $7.6 billion, or the Equinix acquisition of Verizon's data centers for $3.6 billion in an all cash transaction.
The largest 2018 deal was the sale of a 25% stake in Global Switch to a group of Asian investors, which was valued [...][... Check source for end of article ...]

📅 - Dutch Hosting Company TWS Buys Spanish Web Hosting Firm, Axarnet Group - Axarnet Group, a ‘top 10' Spanish web and cloud hosting provider located in Malaga, has been acquired by Netherlands-based Total Webhosting Solutions (TWS (tws.eu)). The Axarnet Group would join TWS to accelerate the execution of their ambitious growth plan.
