Mar, 2017 : Hackers Targeting Central Banks Joined by “Anonymous”

📅 March 21, 2017 - Hackers looted the Bank of Russia for around $21 million last year. This type of theft in Russia is considered a part of a surge in global attacks on banks. It's estimated that the attacks will get much worse this year.

Some have said for central banks, it's not if they will become a victim of a cyber-attack, but when. In fact, an activist hacker group known as “Anonymous” has stated they will be joining in the bank hacking.

“Anonymous” is known for targeting big corporations, governments and security forces. However, sources with direct knowledge have said the group will also target central banks again this year.
