OpenWhisk uses a variety of architectural concepts to give the end user a serverless cloud experience. The new enhancement will help with debugging and many other facets of the product.

📅 - Rural U.K. Sees a Boost in DIY Fiber Broadband - In 2011, a group known as Broadband for the Rural North or B4RN was formed in the U.K. This group had a goal of bringing fiber broadband to eight different parishes through self-installation. After five years, the group has helped run 2,000 miles of cable and has connected a total of 40 parishes.
The rural broadband access cost 150 pounds for installation and another 30 pounds per month for those using it. Churches and schools are provided discounts and larger business pay a higher fee. B4RN has 14 paid staff members, along with volunteers, which all seek permission from farmers to dig trenches and run the fiber cables for connection.

📅 - New Incoming Cybersecurity Regulations in New York Being Revised for Financial Institutions - Banks and insurance companies were given a January 1 deadline for complying with new cybersecurity rules in New York. However, this deadline has been delayed until March 1, 2017. The New York State Department of Financial Services announced revisions to the Cybersecurity Requirements for Financial Service Companies last Wednesday, along with the new deadline.
The original regulations were announced in September of 2016. Since the announcement, banks and insurance companies have been seeking an extension. These new rules have taken more than a year to be created and put into effect.

📅 - Chicago Based SingleHop Celebrates 10 years - Chicago based SingleHop celebrated it's 10th year in business by hosting a concert featuring rock band Cage the Elephant for 1,000 Windy City tech fans. The company was founded in Chicago by Dan Ushman and Zak Boca in 2006. The company's founders have described the city as a vibrant and supportive environment for a thriving business.
