📅 - Following the cyber attack on 500 million Yahoo users, Verizon's deal to acquire Yahoo for $4.8 billion and merge it with AOL has stalled. Tim Armstrong the CEO of AOL is still optimistic that the deal will close. “I'm cautiously optimistic that it will happen,” he told recent attendants of the Business Insider's Ignition Conference. He added, “The companies are working well together. There's been a constructive dialog around things like the data breach that need to get resolved.”
Following Yahoo's announcement that it had been victim to a massive cyber attack in 2014, the deal was put in jeopardy.

📅 - Verizon Data Centers Being Bought by Equinix for $3.6 Billion - Another blockbuster deal was announced in the data center industry. Equinix will purchase a large portion of the data centers of Verizon Communications for $3.6 billion. Verizon has been trying to sell this portion of their data center business since the beginning of the year.
Equinix says it is purchasing 24 of the data center sites, which includes most of the sites Verizon acquired in 2011 from the acquisition of Terremark Worldwide. The deal is expected to be closed by the middle of 2017 and will give Equinix another 2.4 million gross square feet, while bringing their total data center numbers to 175.
