📅 - Rackspace announced Tuesday that they have updated their popular AWS management program Compass. The latest update contains over 350 best practice checks, inventory and security management, and monitoring capabilities.
The technology in Compass comes from CloudCheckr through a licensing agreement valued at $7.5 million. The agreement allows Rackspace to customize and integrate Compass.
Jeff Cotten, senior vice president and general manager of the AWS practice area at Rackspace says “Fanatical Support for AWS has always focused on providing the right mix of tooling, automation and deep human expertise to deliver customer outcomes. The bolstered Compass capabilities create new value for our customers by arming Rackspace architects and engineers with new tooling that will focus on optimizing their AWS environments for cost, performance and security.”

It's called ExpressRoute and will provide a high performance solution helping businesses gain the benefits of public cloud without the risks that come with normal internet connections.
