Verizon Moving Customers Using Too Much Data Off Unlimited Plans

📅 July 25, 2016 - Verizon notified customers still on its unlimited data plan that if they are using an “extraordinary” amount of data each month (defined as those who use more than 100GB every month), they will be kicked off the unlimited plan and forced to choose a new plan. Verizon says these customers will have 50 days to reactivate on a limited data plan if they choose not to switch at first.

The company stopped offering unlimited data plans in 2011, but many customers have been “grandfathered” in with the plans. A very small number of those users are going over 100GB each month – an amount only offered on shared plans using multiple devices through Verizon.
