Latin American IT Growth Expected to be Driven by Big Data and Managed Security
📅 - The projections for IT revenue growth in Latin American have big data and cloud computing leading the way. The market is projected to grow by about 20% in 2016, according to a report done by Frost & Sullivan
About $7.78 billion is expected to come in throughout 2016 from the Latin American market from IT services. Almost half of the revenue will come from data centers with cloud computing and big data also accounting for a large amount of it. Managed security will also grow by about 18.4%.

📅 - Symantec Says Ransomware Becoming More Advanced, Targeted - Hackers using ransomware, software that blocks data and asks for money in return for access to the data, are using more advanced, targeted techniques common in cyber-espionage cases, Symantec reported.
Individuals are still the main target of ransomware attacks, accounting for around 57% of victims. However, attacks on businesses and large organizations are increasing, with the largest spike occuring in late 2015. These findings were released in Symantec's “Ransomware and Businesses” report on Tuesday.
