📅 - In an announcement that came on Tuesday at WPC 2016, Microsoft said it “will prioritize delivering Azure Stack to customers via these systems at launch, which is expected in mid-2017.” The systems referred to in the quote are Dell, HPE, and Lenovo, who will deliver pre-configured Azure Stack systems in an effort to speed the process of implementing Azure Stack in data centers.
These integrated systems use software, hardware, customer support, and services, bundled together in one solution. The concept for Azure Stack was initially announced at the Ignite Conference in 2015. It was pitched as a way to “get the power of cloud services, yet maintain control of your data center for true hybrid cloud agility.”

Google wants its software engineers, normally focused on product development, to work on the team that operates its infrastructure for 6 months. The global-scale infrastructure includes both company-owned and leased data centers.
The program is similar to NASA's terminology, the program is called Mission Control. The program attempts to give Google engineers a better understanding of the building and operation of its infrastructure at a massive scale. Engineers will work for 6 months at one of Google's centers around the world.

📅 - Former Dupont Fabros CEO Starts CloudHQ, Data Center Company - The former co-founder and CEO of Dupont Fabros Technology, Hossein Fateh, started a new data center company called CloudHQ. Fateh left Dupont Fabros, one of the largest data center real estate investment trusts in the country, to start the company, according to Data Center Knowledge.
The CloudHQ company is described as one that “leases data center space and builds data centers at massive scale.” Data center space continues to grow in popularity as nation-wide company migration to the cloud increases.

📅 - European Commission Okays EU-US Privacy Shield - The European Commission approved the agreement between the European Union and the U.S. for a privacy shield that will protect data transfers between the two on Tuesday. The Commission Implementing Decision (PDF) was announced after months of negotiations between the parties.
