Jun, 2016 : A $1 Billion deal will Happen Even After Protests


📅 - The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has awarded a $1 billion contract to Raytheon Co., even after protests from competitors. the contract will provide protection for the networks of many federal agencies.

Raytheon was picked back in September of 2015 as the systems integrator and prime contractor for the Network Security Deployment division. This division oversees more than 100 federal civilian agencies. On June 2nd, the Department of Homeland Security reaffirmed the decision to give Raytheon the contract.

📅 - California Man Pleads Guilty to NetSuite Hacks; Charged $124K for Damages - Robert Saunders, a California man who pled guilty to causing intentional damage of a computer network through several hacks perpetrated in 2012, has been sentenced to one year in prison and a $124,000 fine.

Even with an additional three years' probation included in the sentencing, Saunders received less jail time than past hackers. The hacks reportedly resulted in $189,000 in losses to NetSuite.
