📅 - DigitalOcean has recently launched a new Bangalore data center to help support the growing company. The company is based out of New York and believes India is one of the most important markets for technology in the entire world.
The announcement was made on the heels of DigitalOcean closing a $130 million credit facility. This was done to support the global expansion plans of the company.
DigitalOcean has not only hired a local team, but also partnered with NASSCOM 10,000 startups to support the Indian ecosystem.

📅 - Demandware Acquired by Salesforce for Ecommerce Expertise - Salesforce has decided to join the digital commerce market and has acquired Demandware. The announcement happened on Wednesday and Salesforce agreed to a price of $75 per share or $2.8 billion. The deal is expected to be completed by the end of July.
Demandware is headquartered in Burlington, Massachusetts and the shared are traded on the NYSE. They were priced at just below $48 per share at the close of Tuesday. Salesforce is estimating the company will bring an extra $100 to $120 million in the second half of 2017.

It may have negative consequences for online marketers, consumers and content creators. The Association of National Advertisers says the effects may include intrusive privacy pop-ups, more content found behind paywalls, increased fee from ISPs and less protection for the online ecosystem for consumers.
Many advertisers believe the proposal is an overreach by the FCC and not necessary. They believe the proposal could be damaging to the entire online advertising ecosystem.

The services they will offer include web hosting with a website builder, domain hosting, web development and email hosting services. They will still be a domain registrar, but these services will help customers get what they need in one place.
Smartyhost is headquartered in Btaddon, Canberra, Australia. They manage about 60,00 domain names and has dot com dot au domains at about 15 Australian dollars per year.

📅 - Federal Reserve Breached 50+ Times Since 2011 - Reuters recently reported that the Federal Reserve has detected more than 50 breaches of its computer systems since 2011. The central bank has been attempting to close up its vulnerabilities to spies and hackers.
A total of 310 reports were reviewed, and of those, 140 were described as hacking attempts, 4 were considered acts of espionage, and 51 cases of information disclosure. Two of the reported espionage events resulted in breached information being disclosed. This information was accessed through a Freedom of Information Act request.
