Iron Mountain Becomes a New Member of the White House Energy Challenge


📅 - The White House Energy Challenge called, Better Building Initiative was rolled out in 2011. Recently, Iron Mountain, an information management company, announced they are joining the initiative.

The initiative was set up by President Barack Obama's administration to help push government agencies and companies to become more energy efficient with their data centers. This includes making specific improvements to the energy efficiency of their facilities. In exchange, the government provides some technical assistance, good publicity and shared best practices.

Iron Mountain, based out of Boston, is one of 11 private-sector data centers to accept the President's challenge. Others include Facebook, Staples, Home Depot, eBay, Intuit, Intel, Scheinder Electric, Sabey Data Centers, Digital Realty Trust and CoreSite Realty.
