📅 - Many years ago, Facebook tested the resiliency of their application by shutting down an entire data center. According to the head engineer of the company, Jay Parikh, the test was a success and users were still able to mindlessly sift through their feeds, while distracting themselves from more important things.
Recently, Facebook released some of the tools they used for this test and have developed for their data centers. The tools were open sourced after being built in-house by engineers. .
