Unauthorized Access Forces Linode to Ask for Password Resets
📅 - Linode, a web hosting provider, has forced all customer passwords to expert and require resetting due to a detected unauthorized access to the credentials of their users. They released a post on Tuesday stating all users will be prompted to create a new password on their next login.
After a security investigation was conducted by Linode, they discovered two sets of user credentials on external machines. The table found contained email addresses, usernames, securely hashed passwords and encrypted two-factor seeds. .
