Jul, 2014 : Backupify Brings Cloud to Cloud Backup to Japanese Market

📅 - Backupify, the leading provider of cloud to cloud backup and recovery solutions for Software as a Service (SaaS) applications, today announced the company partnered with Gluegent, Inc., a subsidiary of SIOS Technology, Inc., the leading provider of Google Apps third party applications, to offer Japanese organizations superior data protection and data management in the cloud. Backupify's partnership with Gluegent will mark the first time that cloud to cloud backup is formally being offered in Japan and demonstrates Backupify's commitment to greatly expand the company's relationships with Google Apps resellers outside of North America.

Companies in Japan are migrating business critical data to the cloud and through the new partnership, Gluegent will resell Backupify's solutions to organizations looking to better protect and secure the data they store in Google Apps.

“The adoption of Google Apps is growing quickly in Japan,” said Tokimaru Suzuki, CEO, Gluegent. “Large companies and universities are looking for tools to help them manage and protect their data and that led us to partner with Backupify. Our customers are excited that we will continue to bring them innovative solutions that essentially help them get more value out of their Google Apps investments.”

Significant Expansion Through Key Channel Partnerships

The Gluegent partnership is evidence of Backupify's dedication to building a successful, global channel program designed to help companies implement the solutions they need to confidently move to the cloud. Through continued channel expansion, Backupify achieved a 300 percent increase in channel revenue for Q1 of 2014 compared to the same quarter last year. Throughout 2014 Backupify has been adding top Google Apps resellers to the program including: Tempus Nova in North America, gPartner and Cirruseo in France, Searce in India, Dedalus Prime in Brazil, and Infoanalitica in Mexico.

Backupify plans to continue investing in the channel and in innovation that aids global channel growth, introducing functionality such as Bring Your Own Storage. Last year Backupify announced that it would give IT departments greater control over their data through Bring Your Own Storage to offer customers around the world the option to store their data in local Amazon S3 centers or with other data storage providers. Bring Your Own Storage ensures that companies can store data in their own region if that's needed.

“In just a few short years, the cloud to cloud backup market has gone global,” said Rob May, CEO, Backupify. “Our partnership with Gluegent, a trusted cloud leader in Japan, will help meet the regional demand for better cloud protection and we look forward to working with the Gluegent team and empowering IT organizations across Japan to assume greater control over their cloud data.”
