Open-Xchange, a provider of open source collaboration software, alongwith DIGITEC, a system integrator and long-term business partner, yesterday announced the synchronization of contact and calendar information between Open-Xchange and SugarCRM. In addition, Open-Xchange emails can be easily imported to SugarCRM leads, opportunities and accounts.
The company explains that the DIGITEC OXtender for SugarCRM is developed and distributed by DIGITEC. The software keeps customer-related data, calendars and tasks consistent between the two web-based office applications, Open-Xchange and SugarCRM, giving users access to important business information anywhere with any device. DIGITEC OXtender for SugarCRM is installed with Open-Xchange - no additional client software or plug-ins are required.
It avers that both Open-Xchange and SugarCRM are web applications that can be operated on premises or as a hosted service in the cloud. As data between the two applications is exchanged by using the standard REST (Representational State Transfer) interface, users can decide whether to run one or both applications in-house or as a service from the cloud. The software connector supports the exchange of data in all possible combinations.
The company further explains that Open-Xchange integrates email, calendar, contact and task management with advanced groupware features such as information management and document sharing, along with cutting-edge social network integration. Open-Xchange's unique 'Social OX' features give users the ability to add contact details from social networks such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Xing automatically to the Open-Xchange address book giving users easy access to the latest contact information within their personal network, even on mobile devices like popular Androids and the iPhone.
