📅 - i/o NEW JERSEY joins i/o PHOENIX and i/o SCOTTSDALE as part of the company's North American data center footprint.
i/o Data Centers ("i/o"), a provider of enterprise colocation and data center solutions, yesterday announced the opening its modular data center in Edison, New Jersey, which will be called 'i/o NEW JERSEY'. The company avers that several enterprise customers have already purchased Data Center as a Service (DCaaS) capacity at i/o NEW JERSEY and additional capacity is available for delivery. i/o NEW JERSEY joins i/o PHOENIX and i/o SCOTTSDALE as part of its North American data center footprint.
According to it, i/o NEW JERSEY is located in an 830,000-square-foot plant previously occupied by The New York Times. The data center is located at Exit 10 of the New Jersey Turnpike and is readily accessible to New York City, Newark Liberty International Airport, all of greater New Jersey, Philadelphia and the mid-Atlantic region. i/o NEW JERSEY is located next to one of the largest and most robust power switching stations in the region. The site has in-place fiber optic connectivity from two of the largest IP backbones in the world and i/o has commitments from several additional carriers to serve the New Jersey data center.
The company mentions that i/o NEW JERSEY, its third data center, offers up to 100 MW of UPS capacity or 35,000 cabinet equivalents delivered in colocation cabinets, secure partial modules, dedicated modules and dedicated, multi-module systems. The company provides its Data Center as a Service (DCaaS) offerings to a 100% uptime Service Level Agreement.
In making the announcement, George D. Slessman, CEO of i/o, said, "i/o now controls two of the largest data centers in the world and has the ability to deliver Data Center as a Service (DCaaS) across the entire continent of North America." Slessman added, "We can bring a data center of the magnitude of i/o NEW JERSEY online immediately because of our i/o ANYWHERE modular data center technology. Today's announcement reinforces why the world's largest enterprises rely on i/o for always-on data center solutions."
"Unlike traditional data center real estate projects that take years to build, i/o NEW JERSEY will have capacity available immediately. This is because we manufacture the data center infrastructure at our factory and deliver it when customers need it," said Anthony Wanger, i/o President.
