📅 - Company continues expansion of its newest data center in Bluffdale, Utah.
C7 Data Centers, Inc. (C7), a provider of colocation, virtualization, remote backup, and disaster recovery solutions, yesterday announced continued expansion of its newest data center in Bluffdale, Utah. The company avers that it opened the Bluffdale data center in November 2010, by signing a multi-year agreement with a large anchor tenant. Since then, several new customers have contracted for cage and cabinet space necessitating an additional 12,000 square foot build out. It adds that the Bluffdale facility now counts 24,000 square feet built out or in process and another 26,000 square feet of floor space to be provisioned as demand continues to increase.
The company says that including the expansion in Bluffdale, it has increased its total data center space from 2,000 square feet in 2007 to more than 74,000 square feet. It has utilized 80 percent of the space in its three other data center facilities in Salt Lake City, Lindon and Orem, Utah, and will continue to expand both in-state and in the region during 2011.
It states that the company's expansion in Bluffdale is indicative of strong demand for high-density colocation and dedicated hosting facilities built to meet power requirements and are still reasonably priced. The Salt Lake City area is a prime location for companies considering data center space due to the nation's lowest incidence of disasters, low power costs, and superior IT talent. Over the past several years, corporations - both large and small - as well as government entities, have selected Utah for its business-focused policies, internet connectivity, and highly educated workforce.
