Comwired Inc., a managed DNS provider, today announced that it has acquired the domain name DNS.com in a private transaction and is launching the company's hosted DNS solutions under the new URL.
The company explains that having built enterprise-class DNS network with local geo-aware capabilities, it serves websites that require maximum protection against DNS-based online attacks and other forms of downtime. It claims that apart from selling directly to businesses and consumers, it offers its hosted DNS services via resellers including web hosting companies and domain name registrars. The company adds that it has released a new website with pricing and plans targeting the enterprise market. Several enterprise customers have been migrated to the new platform since launching the site this month.
