Jul, 2009 : islandnet.com offers ASP.NET and PHP in one account

📅 July 30, 2009 - islandnet.com successfully tested ASP and ASP.NET support through our cluster and can now open it up to customers as a beta feature.

Unlike other sites where you would have to choose between a UNIX or Windows based server, and place your files on one or the other, our solution works with our existing servers and control panel, etc. No need to relocate files or change DNS or anything like that. It also means you can have a mix of PHP, ASP, Perl, etc. all under one domain.

Before ASP scripts will work you must request that we enable it for your site. This is on a per domain basis. Once it's enabled you simply upload your ASP files and access them like any other pages. It supports Access databases too. I've been testing it by running ASP based guestbooks, galleries, and forums in my own account.
