The Planet, a privately held dedicated hosting company, today announced the availability of Dell servers powered by Intel's processor technology featuring its Nehalem microarchitecture. The company avers that the new server, packaged as the Dual Xeon 5530, is based on the Dell PowerEdge R710 platform and features 6GB of RAM with the option of either a 250GB SATA or 146GB SAS hard drive. It says that as an added benefit, it includes 80GB of Network Backup and Alpha Server Monitoring with each Dual Xeon 5530 purchase at no charge. The Dual Xeon 5530 SATA is priced at $450 per month; the Dual Xeon 5530 SAS is priced at $475, adds the company.
