👈 Official Responses: 1) announced on Wednesday it is upgrading its anti-spam service with MailChannels' (mailchannels.com) email traffic management system, Traffic Control.

Using Traffic Control, SherWeb is now able to provide its Hosted Exchange users with improved spam filtering and service reliability without charging them with any additional fees.

According to the press release, Traffic Control "reduces spam at the connection layer by up to 98 percent leaving end users with less spam and improving the efficiency and reliability of SherWeb's Hosted Exchange service."

And unlike other anti-spam solutions on the market, Traffic Control blocks spam based on the reputation of email senders instead of the content of messages.

Connections from known spammers are rejected immediately, connections from suspicious sources are slowed down, and legitimate connections are accelerated to SherWeb's mail servers.

MailChannels' email traffic shaping software provides protocol-layer spam filtering to email users of all sizes.

The company's flagship product, Traffic Control, combines a "multiplexing SMTP proxy with real-time reputation data to prioritize email traffic before it hits the mail server," says the company.

While it was not designed with the hosting business in mind, many MailChannels customers that use Traffic Control are web hosting providers.
