👈 Official Responses: 0 -> heartinternet.uk) announced last week it has launched its Windows reseller hosting solution, which enables resellers to manage both Windows and Linux platforms simultaneously.
Heart Internet previously only offered Linux reseller hosting accounts. As Microsoft's hosting division continues to grow in marketshare, with just over 33 percent of all active sites run on Microsoft server reported in Netcraft's November web survey, the company decided to add Windows reseller hosting account.
The new Windows reseller hosting solution offers the same features as its Linux solution, including unlimited bandwidth and web space, MySQL databases and email.
Additionally, Heart Internet now offers its reseller customers with support for MS SQL databases, ASP and ASP.NET, as well as a range of ready built ASP scripts including form to email, blogs, CMS, website search and image galleries.
"Being able to offer Microsoft shared hosting was one of the most frequent requests we had from our resellers so it was important we got it right," says Jonathan Brealey, Heart Internet director. "We were amazed at how many other hosting companies charge their Windows customers extra for basic features such as log files or the ability to use ASP.NET. We have worked hard to make sure our Windows accounts are as feature rich as our Linux accounts."
Heart Internet's Windows reseller hosting accounts are priced at £10 a year, which includes log files, graphical stats, ASP.NET, .NET framework and shared SSL certificate.
Since 2004, Heart Internet has been providing hosting and reseller solutions. Prior to its launch, the company's founders, Jonathan Brealey and Tim Beresford, launched WebFusion in 1997, which has grown to become one of the largest web hosts in the UK today.
Last month, Webfusion expanded its services from the UK into the US, launching an American branch.
Brealey and Beresford sold Webfusion to Host Europe in May 2000, at which time they were appointed the company's group managing director and chief technology officer, respectively.
After the acquisition, Webfusion operated as a separate autonomous company to Host Europe. During this period Brealey and Beresford developed discount domain registrar 123-reg, and eventually left Host Europe in March 2003.
