Jan 12, 2009 : TXI Picks Colo4Dallas for Hosting
📅 - Dallas-based building supplies and real estate firm Texas Industries (txi.com) has chosen colocation service provider Colo4Dallas (colo4dallas.com) to provide support and security for its IT infrastructure.
According to the company's announcement last week, Colo4Dallas will be providing TXI with premium data center solutions to support its IT infrastructure needs. With operations in six states, TXI is a leading supplier of building materials, including cement, aggregate and concrete.
"We conducted an exhaustive search to find a colocation provider that could meet our specific needs and still be cost-effective," TXI IT technical services director Len Brown said in a statement. "We wanted to ensure that we minimize or eliminate downtime, drive performance of our IT systems and keep mission-critical applications and hardware secure."
Colo4Dallas president and chief technology officer Paul VanMeter said its Dallas colocation operations are not only offer the highest quality facility and network in the area, but it also offers custom solutions to make customers transition easier.
"TXI had specific requirements for their move into the data center, from cross connects and cabling to the provisioning of telco circuits, and we were happy to create a solution to meet their immediate needs and support future growth," VanMeter said in a statement.
Colo4Dallas technicians used approximately 8,500 feet of cat5e cable for TXI's installation. Each partitioned section was tested and precisely mapped to ensure high performance, helping technicians more easily diagnose cable problems and expand the infrastructure as TXI's needs change.
Founded in 2000, SAS70 type II-certified Colo4Dallas serves a customer base that includes enterprise customers, and businesses in the financial, health care and technology sectors, as well as web hosts. Its data center space includes more than 106,000 square feet of secure, climate-controlled space between three facilities.
