According to Cirrus Tech's Thursday announcement, Cirrus Tech recognized the need to provide their clients with a more robust email alternative to the one included in its web hosting plans. Its Hosted Exchange and Sharepoint plans meet the demands of business communication and are based on the most advanced emailing system Microsoft (microsoft.com) offers.

A widely-used standard for hosted email, Microsoft's Hosted Exchange provides an easy transition for small business customers which may already be running Microsoft Exchange Server in-house for their email. Cirrus Tech Hosted Exchange customers benefit from an advanced, business class email service without the upfront and ownership costs of an in-house solution.

"The upfront costs of a full-featured Exchange solution is just not feasible for some small and medium sized businesses, and don?t forget the ongoing maintenance and support expenses," Cirrus Tech Product Director Ali Mirdamadi said in a statement. "With our plans, clients get a reliable Exchange solution at a low cost and without any hassle."

While other web hosts have been offering Exchange for years, Cirrus Tech said it has been working to perfect its Hosted Exchange offering before finally releasing it.

"We didn't want to bring to market our services until we felt strongly that it was among the best Hosted Exchange offerings in North America," Mirdamadi said in October. "We have taken steps to ensure that our services will match, and in some aspects exceed, the current Hosted Exchange and SharePoint services available today."

Starting at $4.95 per month, Cirrus Tech's Exchange plans are hosted on clustered Dell Blade Servers and include an easy to use control panel for managing Hosted Exchange accounts. With flexible plans to meet specific email requirements, Cirrus Tech offers clients 500 MB, 1000 MB, and 2000 MB mailboxes, with the option to increase the number of mailboxes on a need-to basis.
