Nov 28, 2008 : InfoRelay Launches R1Soft CDP
📅 - A month after officially launching version 2.0 of its continuous data protection solution, software developer R1Soft (r1soft.com) announced on Wednesday that IT and connectivity solutions provider InfoRelay (inforelay.com -> atlanticmetro.net -> 365datacenters.com) will now offer R1Soft's CDP as an add-on to its managed, dedicated and colocation packages.
Founded in 1995 with a single T1 line, InfoRelay says it has expanded into enterprise data centers across the US and its network is powered by a blend of over 15 providers and peers. According to the press release, InfoRelay currently hosts over 20,000 domain names through its brand and subsidiaries, including Sitelutions, MultipleHost, and 100MbpsServers.com.
According to the company's most recent announcement, CDP's ability to provide a uniform backup solution across heterogeneous environments will enable InfoRelay to easily manage all of its Linux and Windows backups through a single centralized web-based interface, as well as offer protection for MySQL database infrastructure and client production environments.
"After looking for a backup solution for over a year, we feel that we have found the most reliable, scalable and economical software," says Josh Abraham, lead technical account manager at InfoRelay. "We can rest assured our customers' data is safe. R1Soft also provides a greater ROI than our in-house solution. By storing only changes that are made on disk, we save money because we are buying fewer servers to store additional data."
A division of BBS Technologies, R1Soft is perhaps best known for its line of CDP software and has quickly become a leading provider of disk-based backup solutions in the industry. It most recently signed a deal with French hosting and data center solutions provider Ikoula to provide an upscale backup solution for its self-managed dedicated servers and managed hosting.
And earlier this week, R1Soft officially released its long-awaited free beta version of Hot Copy for Linux, a command line utility that takes instant snapshots of disks or volumes on any Linux server, providing IT administrators an unprecedented level of flexibility.
