Sep 30, 2008 : TRAFFIC Fetches $3M-Plus in Domains

📅 September 30, 2008 - Domain aftermarket provider Moniker (moniker.com) announced on Tuesday that more than $3 million in premium domain names were purchased during Moniker's live auctions at the T.R.A.F.F.I.C. New York domain conference last week.

Individual investors and marketing-focused companies purchased various premium domains from the two-phase auction, which began with the live auction phase on September 25.

A total of 148 domains were purchased during the auctions, which is more than half the domains that were available for bid. The average buyer spent over $20,000 during the two events hosted by Moniker.

FinancialAid.com drew in the highest bid at $800,000, followed by Floor.com with $275,000, Camps.com with $110,000, Cleaning.com and IT.com both taking in $100,000, Searching.com with $85,000, BirthdayPresents with $80,000, and Date.com, Plans.com and Sax.com all fetching $70,000.

The second phase of the auction continues as Moniker holds an extended online auction in conjunction with last week's live event. The online auction offers thousands of additional quality names, and will close October 2 at 3:15 p.m. EDT.

Top inventory in the extended online auction includes SavingsBond.org, CommercialProperties.com, Vehicle.com, Childbirth.com, RedRoses.com, Stock.com, Bond.com, ElectricBikes.com, PregnancyCenter.com and Recruiter.com.
