Now serving as a workplace for 100 iWeb employees, the completely redundant IT center was able to withstand the 1998 ice storm without losing power or Internet connectivity.

"The new headquarters addresses two major objectives; to provide a high quality colocation infrastructure for our clients, and to reunite almost all of our employees by providing a unique working environment" says Eric Chouinard, president of iWeb. "until recently, iWeb's 120 employees were spread out in our three data centers "

This is the third building for iWeb, and according to Chouinard, the company is already thinking about the fourth. IWeb's former headquarters, located at 3185 Hochelaga, will continue to be staffed to fully support the 1,800 servers onsite.

The company's second center, located in the Montreal borough of Saint-Leonard, has a total capacity of 12,000 dedicated servers and 105 colocation cabinets.

The company has undergone a significant restructure this year, starting in Februrary, when the company increased its term loans facility to receive an additional $1 million of total credit with the Bank of Montreal. The next month, iWeb launched its brand new corporate identity and coinciding website.

Last month, iWeb Group and Goldman Sachs Credit Partners reached a $22 million financing agreement.

IWeb provides Internet hosting services and IT infrastructure, with over 120 full-time employees and more than 17,000 customers in 145 countries.
