📅 September 23, 2008 - Managed Web hosting provider Rebel Networks (rebelnetworks.com ) has acquired rarehost.com, a small, London-based web host, adding to its customer base and web hosting infrastructure in the UK.

According to Rebel Networks' announcement Tuesday, Rarehost.com will be re-branded rebelnetworks.co.uk and its data center space in London will help establish Rebel Networks in the UK and Europe. Rebel Networks, which offers e-commerce service, will begin to accept British pounds as a form of payment effective immediately.

The company's acquisition of rarehost.com is the latest in a series of expansions through acquisitions. It has recently acquired hosting companies including WRC hosting, ARC Web Scape and Lehost.net as part of its growth strategy.

"This works well into our expansion plans into the European Market where we currently have thousands of customers and now will give those customers a choice of having hosting with a UK IP address" Rebel Networks president and chief executive officer Domenic Macchione said in a statement.
