📅 September 12, 2008 - Metro optical solutions provider FiberLight (fiberlight.com) announced on Thursday it is providing hosting infrastructure and disaster recovery solutions provider HostVentures (hostventures.com) with metro optical Ethernet services to extend its network.


The agreement enables HostVentures to improve its bandwidth management and enhance network performance at key aggregation points in a cost efficient, scalable, and easy to administer manner.

FiberLight Ethernet service is a dedicated solution for interconnecting traffic aggregation points and enterprise locations within the Dallas, San Antonio, Houston, Atlanta, South Florida, Washington DC, Baltimore, and Tampa metropolitan areas.

Based on standard Ethernet interfaces and protocols, the metro Ethernet service is cost effective and includes a five 9's reliability SLA, which works out to about 25 seconds of downtime in a 30 day month period.

The solution is fully redundant and provides service providers with a reliable network that can be configured quickly to meet service speeds up to 10Gbps.

FiberLight provides metro optical transport services and strategic network infrastructure, FiberLight designs, constructs and maintains an extensive fiber optic Infrastructure for a diverse customer base.

The Baltimore-based HostVentures says it provides high availability Internet infrastructure for SMBs and enterprises through managed hosting and colocation solutions, including web hosting, application hosting and disaster recovery solutions.

Last month, HostVentures named former Parallels vice president of sales Tim O'Rourke to lead the company's sales, marketing and operations as chief operating officer.
