📅 September 9, 2008 - Just a couple of days into the week, a handful of hosting deals have been announced by competing web hosting providers, including The Planet (theplanet.com -> softlayer.com -> ibm.com), CI Host (cihost.com -> hostinger.com), AIT (ait.com ), and Network Solutions (networksolutions.com ).

First off, dedicated managed hosting provider The Planet announced it is offering discounts on its new Alpha Advanced Services, based on the success its seen since its July launch.

From now through September 30, customers who add Alpha Server Monitoring or Alpha Server Security to new orders will receive the first month of service for free.

Web hosting provider C I Host announced two promotions to help current and new customers to improve their server hardware or increase the amount of bandwidth included in their contract.

The DoublePlusGood Promotion is available to new and existing dedicated server customers, providing the choice of doubling the RAM in their server, doubling the size of the hard drive, or doubling their bandwidth allotment for free when they sign a dedicated server contract.

Customers can also add a second option for no setup fee or half off the setup fee to add the SecureStore backup solution, which it launched in May.

Web hosting provider AIT has launched its Power Buy Savings promotion, which provides a limited time offer for anyone considering a new web host or an upgrade to an additional 20 percent savings off AIT 's hosting plans.

Finally, Network Solutions has enhanced many of its current web hosting offerings to improve ease of use, performance and reliability for customers.

The web host has added more open source software applications with one-click installs, including Joomla, PHP Bulletin Board and OSCommerce, increased its UNIX server uptime rating to 99.99 percent, and increased both the storage and bandwidth.
