📅 - On-demand, website test and measurement firm Keynote Systems (keynote.com) has announced KITE 2.0, a new, web application performance testing environment that includes testing of web 2.0 and cloud applications to be released in August.


"As cloud computing grows dramatically, a new age of products for testing and validating application performance in real time across the Internet cloud is required," said Vik Chaudhary, vice president of product management and corporate development at Keynote. "We've built KITE to address this need as a product for anyone wanting to understand and improve the performance of their Web applications from the end user perspective."

KITE 2.0, released this week, analyzes performance from both the user desktop and off-site. Its easy to use test script language and repository, according to Chaudhary is intended for web application developers, performance analysts and engineers, quality assurance testers and Web ops personnel, enabling them to collaborate on work across the application lifecycle.

Chaudhary said KITE 2.0 is significant because it is a "test-and-measurement environment for recording, editing and analyzing the performance of Web applications from the desktop and Internet cloud." "The rapid Web applications lifecycle needs a testing solution that can keep up," Chaudhary said, noting that KITE 2.0 allows users to monitor networks and quickly repair problems using JavaScript programmability.

California-based Keynote is one of the older measurement and monitoring solutions companies in the industry, having been founded in 1995. This new release combined with the appointment of new executives are signs that Keynote is remaining competitive as the internet paradigm shifts to cloud-based computing.
