📅 - HP's (hp.com) research unit, HP Labs, announced on Tuesday a new "green" initiative that strives to create sustainable data centers that hope to reduce the carbon footprint by 75 percent.
With the rising energy crisis, data centers are striving to implement environmentally-friendly measures in an attempt to lower emissions as well as power bills. HP Labs says it will work to "drastically reduce the amount of electricity consumed in the data center."
HP also recently launched a blade that holds two independent servers, which it says will be able to reduce energy consumption by 60 percent. Entitled the HP ProLiant BL2
