This new expansion will include more than 100 Western Australian and Queensland based ADSL 2+ exchanges, increasing the availability of business-grade high speed broadband services across the country. The new ADSL 2+ network offers coverage across all major Australian business centers, says Macquarie, delivering "increased speed, bandwidth and scalability." It also improves Macquarie's diagnostic capabilities and performance, which is ensured by leading service level guarantees.
More specifically, the network expansion's benefits include private IP and/or Internet services with ADSL2+ broadband, high speed broadband IP VPN to all customer branches with options of up to 24Mbps/1Mbps, distance performance and double the number of upload bits with the new ADSL 2+ (Annex M) technology, free consultation with IP VPN specialist, DSL technology and speed, ADSL of up to 8M/768K and ADSL2+ of up to 24M/1M.
The new network will also give Macquarie a platform for faster product and service development to meet business and government needs as they worked towards merging voice, data and Internet applications. "Our customers told us they needed faster speeds and greater bandwidth in more locations and we listened and acted quickly," says Chris Greig, group executive of marketing, product development and alliances at Macquarie Telecom. "The expansion of our ADSL 2+ network is another example of Macquarie Telecom's leadership in the supply of innovative convergence communications services for Business and Government in Australia." Macquarie Telecom says it delivers network and connectivity infrastructure, as well as develops sophisticated management tools designed to help companies save time and get the most out of customers? telecommunication services. Macquarie Hosting, a division of Macquarie Telecom, signed a three year agreement in January to host Habbo, a teen social networking website visited by more than 2.9 million Australian registered users.
