According to KickAssVPS's announcement last week, the Linux and Windows VPS hosting provider's partnership with ControlScan lets KickAssVPS customers access ControlScan's PCI compliance scanning and vulnerability reporting, confirming its customers' PCI compliance, a standard set forth by the PCI Security Standards Council (pcisecuritystandards.org) comprised of all the major credit card companies to impose rules on the processing of cardholder data.
Also, KickAssVPS can now offer a variety of additional security services, including website security seals, and premier SSL and Extended Validation SSL certificates from GeoTrust and Verisign.
"The partnership with KickAssVPS will allow us to provide more merchants with PCI compliance solutions and services while helping secure their customers' personal information," ControlScan sales director David Koziol said in a statement.
KickAssVPS president and chief technical officer Brian Emerson said the partnership with ControlScan enable e-commerce clients to safely process credit card transactions. "PCI compliance is an important layer of protection for merchants and online consumers alike, and we endorse it as viable and ultimately necessary," Emerson said in a statement.
