) and IT security solutions provider GlobalSign (globalsign.com) announced it is offering Verio One-click SSL Certificates, enabling users a convenient method to quickly purchase and renew SSL certificates. The offering is currently available to viaVerio solution provider partners, with plans to extend the offering to all Verio customers in the second half of 2008, says Verio.

As online security threats continue to worsen and affect the safety of e-commerce and communication over the Internet, SSL certificates have become a crucial sign of verifying a website's legitimacy.

Acquiring SSL certificates has previously been a tedious and highly technical process. Users have to  create and send a certificate signing request, maintain email communications from the SSL vendor and process the necessary steps to install the SSL Certificate. Verio's new One-click SSL replaces this method with an efficient one-click process, making SSL certificates more accessible to smaller online shops.

The two companies are working together to offer the One-click SSL to partners and customers, resulting in the cooperative backend system integration between Verio and GlobalSign. This partnership also eliminates the otherwise cumbersome verification and installation processes for SSL certificates, enabling business owners to buy their own SSL certificates with just a few clicks through their Verio control panel.

"GlobalSign prides itself on innovation and is very pleased to be working with Verio to roll-out the industry's first One-click SSL," says Ichiro Chujo, CEO and president of GlobalSign Group. "This revolutionary take on purchasing and renewing certificates really extends fundamental security options to small and midsize businesses that previously did not have the resources to take advantage of."

GlobalSign announced earlier this week that it is including its SSL Secure Site Seal service for free with its range of SSL services.
