) announced on Thursday it has introduced its new line of managed Xen Virtual dedicated servers, after nearly a year of research and development.

The new line of Xen-powered servers gives customers greater control over their virtual servers, enabling them to customize configurations and maximize the potential applications of the virtual server. The new resource allocation features of Xen also provides addtional security and reliability for all users hosted on a server, ensuring no single user monopolizes shared server resources.

"With Xen, we have been able to mitigate the typical tradeoffs that a shared hosting environment presents," says Aaron Weller, director of Crucial Paradigm. "We have been working on perfecting this product for nearly a year, and we feel we have created one of the most robust Managed Virtual Dedicated Server offerings available. Xen technology, combined with our infrastructure and award-winning customer support, brings this product to an entire new level."

Crucial Paradigm's managed Xen virtual dedicated servers are hosted on nodes featuring four CPU cores and RAID 10 hard drive configuration. Xen VDS plans start at $49.95 per month for 10GB of data storage space and 200GB of monthly data transfer. There are four Xen VDS plans for a range of operating systems, including CentOS 4, CentOS 5, Debian 3, Debian 4, Fedora Core and temporarily Ubuntu 7.

Earlier this month, Crucial Paradigm Australia announced plans to make its entire line of Australian hosting solutions environmentally friendly.
