"We had three goals when designing the latest version of ServerShield: harden security, prevent spam, and increase performance and reliability," says Zac Cogswell, WiredTree president. "It works beautifully for both administrator and end users, saving them time and money."
WiredTree says ServerShield 2 heightens security by performing over 50 steps, including installing a firewall, bruteforce detection, HTTP intrusion and DDoS protection. The solution prevents spam through a customized spam filtering, says the company.
ServerShield increases users' server performance by altering Apache, MySQL, and PHP configurations, as well as low-level system settings to boost performance. It increases reliability by installing and monitoring range of Web applications, including FFMpeg, GD, ImageMagick, commonly used PHP modules and Ruby.
WiredTree announced last week it chosen to expand into the 427 LaSalle Street data center in Chicago, Illinois, providing up to 60,000 square feet of conditioned data center space for the company to move into immediately.
