-> liquidweb.com) announced on Thursday it has chosen to expand into the 427 LaSalle Street data center in Chicago, Illinois, providing up to 60,000 square feet of conditioned data center space for the company to move into immediately. The new facility will enable WiredTree to expand its product and service offerings while maintaining its stringent quality control standards, says WiredTree.

"After an extensive evaluation process, we selected this facility because it has the redundant infrastructure and controls in place that our mission-critical hosting requires," says Zac Cogswell, WiredTree president. "Not only has the facility been recently renovated, it's located just a couple of blocks from our corporate headquarters in downtown Chicago."

The new facility features three 3,000 AMP 480 volt 3 Phase ComEd electrical feeds from multiple power substations, three 2 megawatt electrical generators, four 500KvA UPS systems and four 300 ton chillers. The data center also provides round-the-clock security staffing, including digital security cameras, a key card access system and data tracking and recording.

Additionally, the facility has automated logic monitoring of all electrical equipment, as well as connectivity to multiple backbone providers, including Savvis, Level3, AT&T, Qwest, XO, Sprint-Nextel, Verizon, Abovenet and Cogent.
