Dec 5, 2006 : Host Depot Warns of Holiday Slowdown

📅 December 5, 2006 - Web hosting provider Host Depot (hostdepot.com ) announced on Monday that it is offering same day e-commerce setup for customers who want to take advantage of the occasion known as Cyber Monday.

Host Depot says Cyber Monday, the online analogue to the retail event known as "Black Friday," is traditionally the Monday after Thanksgiving, and sees the largest amount of online shopping, typically occurring during the workday.

The company, however, expects that every Monday from through Christmas will be a Cyber Monday, with the peak occurring on December 18.

"Even if a retailer missed today's traditional kick-off to Cyber Mondays, Host Depot is capable of setting up a retail customer with a fully functional e-commerce site the same day the order is made for the hosting account, using the most powerful e-commerce tools such as Google Checkout, the latest in user friendly online shopping systems," says Mark Erskine, president and CEO for Host Depot. "Whether a company is an established bricks and mortar retailer or a pure e-commerce start-up, Host Depot has solutions designed to make it easy to start selling online and be ready for Cyber Mondays."

Host Depot says additional hosting benefits include its Bandwidth Bank program that enables customers to rollover their unused bandwidth, which comes in handy, especially during the holiday season where most e-commerce sites use up the majority of their bandwidth.

The company also recently announced it is offering a solution for the holiday to help customers grab a piece of the $32 billion in online shopping that is expected to occur this year.
