Jul, 2001 : Commerce One and Intel Team to Deploy e-Marketplaces

📅 July 25, 2001 - Commerce One, Inc. (commerceone.com), a global e-marketplace company, has selected Intel Online Services, Inc. (intelonlineservices.com) as a provider of global managed hosting services for its new Managed Application Services.

Commerce One Managed Application Services combines Commerce Onee-marketplace solutions, which enable online business-to-business commerce,with Intel Online Services networking, hardware and operating systemsupport. Commerce One plans to capitalize on the flexibility provided byIntel Online Services' AppChoice managed hosting service to customizehosting services for Commerce One customers.
Commerce One Managed Application Services is specifically designed forenterprises and industry consortia that want to deploy simple or complexe-marketplaces. Managed Applications Services is designed to reduce the timeit takes to implement an e-marketplace, improve time-to-market, and reducethe burden of additional IT expenditures.
The agreement between Commerce One and Intel Online Services represents anexpansion of Intel Corporation's relationship with the e-marketplacecompany. Intel and Commerce One announced a broad alliance in October 2000that included collaboration on business planning, solution development andengineering, customer support systems, sales and channel development, andmarketing.
"The relationship between Intel Online Services and Commerce One benefitscustomers by providing quicker time-to-market, highly reliable solutions andinnovative technologies from two experienced companies," said DaliborVrsalovic, president, Intel Online Services, Inc.
Commerce One and Intel Online Services says they will provide tailoredlevels of hosting services that customers can choose from to meet theirunique requirements.
