IP Communications Offers No-Cost Switching for DSL Customers
📅 - IP Communications (ip.net), a leading Texas-based broadband service provider, today announced a special offer for Texas customers using DSL high-speed Internet service provided by Rhythms NetConnections, Inc. (rhythms.com), which filed for bankruptcy protection on Wednesday.
In its unique offer, IP will waive all interconnection charges and providespecial operations assistance to ensure that Rhythms customers in Texas areable to switch DSL service to IP Communications easily and with no penalty."We understand how important high-speed Internet access is to consumers andbusinesses," said Sean Minter, IP Communications president. "It'sunfortunate that Rhythms management wasn't able to succeed in this highlycompetitive telecom marketplace. We want to give Rhythms customers, whoface possible loss of service in as little as 31 days, the option to moveeasily and economically to a stable, long-term DSL service."
Minter encouraged Rhythms customers to make the changes now, since switchingservice may take several days. IP has already begun the transition processwith a number of customers served by ISPs in Texas. IP was one of the fewcompanies who provided similar transition plans for customers of NorthpointCommunications, which ceased operations in May.
