Aug, 2001 : VertigoXmedia to Develop Interactive Solution for iTV

📅 August 24, 2001 - VertigoXmedia (vertigoxmedia.com), a leading provider of content automation solutions for live broadcasts, the Internet, interactive television , and wireless devices, today announced that TechTV (techtv.com), a 24-hour technology news channel, has hired VertigoXmedia to develop iTV solutions that are tightly integrated with TechTV's existing broadcast production environment.

The first development project will be an iTV version of TechTV's Tech Livetechnology news show application for the Microsoft TV platform. Under theterms of the agreement, VertigoXmedia will work with TechTV to define itsiTV requirements, with an emphasis on integrating iTV enhancements withtraditional broadcast content. TechTV will use Vertigo's Producer On Aircontent automation system for creating, controlling, and deliveringinteractive TV content in parallel with the television broadcast. This willallow TechTV to share the same content across both media, resulting in oneof the first fully integrated production environments for television andiTV.

VertigoXmedia provided a complete control and automation system for thelaunch of TechTV's Tech Live production that debuted on April 2nd, and hassince been delivering a demanding nine-and-a-half hours of live technologynews coverage each day. This same system will be used to manage and controlTechTV's iTV content, allowing TechTV to realize economies of scale byreusing existing systems and resources rather than building a separate iTVinfrastructure.
