Cypress Introduces High-Performance USB 2.0 Hub Controller

The only hub controller to integrate fourtransaction translators, the Cypress TetraHub allowsall three USB speeds -- low-speed (1.5 Mbps),full-speed (12 Mbps) and hi-speed (480 Mbps) -- tocoexist in any USB-enabled system.

This design architecture is superiorin performance to single transaction translatordesigns currently on the market. TetraHub is afixed-function solution, requiring no firmwareintervention, thereby reducing design risk anddevelopment time. The TetraHub may be used as ahigh-bandwidth controller in standalone hubs, monitorhubs, port replicators, and docking stations.Additionally, the controller may be used to increasethe number of USB ports on a PC without integratingadditional host controllers.
The TetraHub controller is available in aspace-saving, cost-effective 56-lead QFN. Cypress alsooffers a reference design and evaluation kit toshorten and simplify product design cycles.
