Oct 1, 2001 : Nuvo Wins Government of Canada Contract
📅 - Nuvo Network Management Inc., (nuvo.com), an Ottawa-basedManagement Service Provider , announced last week that it has been awarded a3-year, $5.35 million contract to provide network management services to theGovernment of Canada (canada.gc.ca).
Nuvo will provide network management services to the GovernmentTelecommunications and Informatics Services , the Federal Government centreof information technology expertise. Nuvo's rNMX 5000 series of remotenetwork management services will form a core component of GovernmentEnterprise Network Management Services, offered by GTIS to federaldepartments and agencies.
This contractual agreement extends a previous 3-year contract announced inSept. 1998 between Nuvo and GTIS. Under that agreement Nuvo successfullydelivered WAN and LAN management services to 14 government organizationssupporting approximately 1,200 network devices at 500 locations acrossCanada.
In March 2001, the Treasury board of Canada underlined the growingimportance of serving Canadians better through online delivery of governmentinformation and services. The Government On-Line initiative is theGovernment of Canada's plan to become the Government most electronicallyconnected to its citizens in the world by 2004. The development andoperation of a comprehensive, robust network infrastructure is a criticalsuccess factor of the Government On-Line initiative, and Nuvo's 24x7 networkmanagement services will be an important contributor for many of theparticipating departments and agencies.
