Oct, 2001 : Worldport Awarded Three Managed Service Contracts

📅 October 16, 2001 - Worldport Communications, Inc. (wrdp.com), a Europeanhigh-end managed service solutions provider, announced yesterday threebusiness agreements that further extend the range of managed servicesdelivered to customers.

Telecomputing, an ASP company and market leader for the distribution andoperation of server-based Windows applications, selected Worldport as astrategic business partner to host and manage its ASP-based platform. Alsounder the agreement, Worldport will purchase ASP services fromTelecomputing, and the two companies will jointly market and sell theirproducts and services to existing, as well as potential customers.
In addition, Worldport announced yesterday two new customer wins, e-SpatialSolutions, a developer of integrated spatial (visual rather than text-based)data information solutions, and The McLaren Group, an international providerof human capital and management consultancy solutions.
Worldport will host and manage e-Spatial's Web-enabled customerdemonstration platform, as well as provide e- Spatial customers withoutsourced services via its Internet Data Centers across Europe. As part ofthe contract, Worldport and e-Spatial will partner on global new businessefforts, leveraging their specific technology expertise.
For the McLaren Group, Worldport will manage the company's entire Internetinfrastructure, including the Web site application and database engine ofits flagship suite of human resources tools. By outsourcing the managementof its online applications to Worldport, The McLaren Group can ensure thatits corporate site runs efficiently and is fully protected against externalthreats.
