InfiniSwitch to Integrate IBM Technology into InfiniBand Solutions
📅 - InfiniSwitch Corporation (infiniswitch.com), a major developer of InfiniBand switching solutions, announced yesterday it will work with IBM (chips.ibm.com) to integrate IBM's chip technology - known as InfiniBlue - into future switching solutions offered by InfiniSwitch. InfiniSwitch will enhance server-to-server communication, as well as connectivity to Fibre Channel, Ethernet, and iSCSI.

The InfiniBand Trade Association, made up of more than 225 companies,including InfiniSwitch and co-founder and steering committee member IBM, isfocused on developing products under a new high-speed common I/O standard.Drawing on existing technologies,
InfiniBand architecture creates a more efficient way to connect storage,communications networks and server clusters together, while delivering anI/O infrastructure that will produce the efficiency, reliability, andscalability data centers demand. InfiniBand's point-to-point, switched-baseinterconnects will finally allow IT managers to take advantage of massiveamounts of computing power.
