📅 - ISWest (iswest.com -> hostinger.com), one of Southern California's largest and most successful business-to-business ISPs, announced that it has signed an agreement with Internap Network Services Corp (iswest.com -> hostinger.com).
Internap, a leading intelligent routing services provider, agreed to installthe top 10 backbone providers that carry 95 per cent of the world's Internettraffic into ISWest's facility.
ISWest currently operates a data center in Agoura Hills and Los Angeles,Calif., offering co-location and managed Web hosting to businesses large andsmall. Prior to this deal with Internap, ISWest had two backbone providers,which gave the company redundancy of routing their Internet traffic.
"In the event of a backbone provider having routing trouble, ISWest's Ciscorouters would simply reroute its customer's traffic to our other provider,"said Bob Johnson, chief technical officer for ISWest.
"Internap's unique approach to Internet connectivity compliments ISWest'snetwork infrastructure and adds to the existing two backbone providers,Level 3 and Global Crossing," commented Drew Kaplan, director of sales &marketing for ISWest. "Now we will have a total of 10 backbone providerssuch as: AT&T, Cable & Wireless, Sprintlink, UUNet, Genuity, Verio, Digexand Qwest. Working with Internap enables us to offer a diverse connectivityto the Internet, which offers even more redundancy and reliability than wealready have."
