(quest.com), a provider of applicationmanagement solutions, and F5 Networks (f5.com -> hostinger.com), a provider of Internettraffic and content management products, announced yesterday an alliance todeliver tight integration between Quest's SharePlex for Oracle and F5'sBIG-IP and 3-DNS products.
This integration is designed to provide customers with a complete solutionto effectively deploy redundant Oracle databases, including thesynchronization of data across local or distributed sites and theintelligent management of traffic. In the case of a database failure orplanned maintenance, SharePlex can seamlessly alert and instruct BIG-IP and3-DNS systems to shift traffic flow away from failed or out of synchdatabases to redundant or alternative sites in order to ensure businesscontinuity.
The companies say the combined Quest and F5 solution has had an immediateimpact on customers' return on investment, by maximizing applicationavailability, allowing for trouble-free maintenance, and reducingadministration overhead because it addresses numerous high availabilityissues. SharePlex for Oracle is a log-based replication solution, providingrealtime data replication between two or more Oracle databases in order toensure constant availability. F5's market leading traffic managementproducts BIG-IP and 3-DNS monitor the health and performance of the networkinfrastructure and applications and direct user requests to the most optimalresources available.
